Both Alexander McQueen and Saint Laurent currently retail in India through multi-brand outlets but their first standalone stores are expected to open at the DLF Chanakya luxury brand mall in New Delhi next year.

“A letter of intent has been signed between the brands and DLF and the lease deed is awaited,” sources close to the matter told ET Bureau.

The store launch is expected to take place in the middle of next year. The Chanakya mall, which reopened with DLF in 2017, has brought in a number of international luxury brands such as Ted Baker, Thomas Pink, Diesel, and Rolex and also houses Indian brands such as Anita Dongre and Outhouse.

Alexander McQueen, which was founded in 1992, retails men’s and womenswear worldwide with standalone stores in the UK, US, France, China, Italy, Thailand, and Japan among other countries. Kering picked up a 51 percent stake in the brand in 2010.

Saint Laurent was founded in 1961 and is also part of the Kering Group. For the first half of 2018, the Kering Group reported consolidated income of €6.432 billion (Rs 53,000 crore).
