After Jennifer Lopez, Giuseppe Zanotti joins forces with Zayn Malik
The Italian luxury footwear label owned by the Vicini company, which ceded 30% of its stake to the L Capital investment fund in 2014, has boosted its media coverage this summer, through a series of collaborations and by investing in social media.
At the end of July, Zanotti announced the launch of Giuseppe for Jennifer, a capsule collection of women's shoes created with superstar US singer Jennifer Lopez. A month later, another collaboration with a musician is on the cards, this time focused on men's shoes.
The man in question is British artist Zayn Malik, 23, former star of boy band One Direction, now a solo singer and the boyfriend of top model Gigi Hadid. In other words, a name with hordes of social media fans.
The Italian brand has not yet published an official press release, content with simply orchestrating a few press and web leaks, cleverly stoking up the buzz.
It has also introduced the #GiuseppexZayn hashtag on its Twitter account, with no other details. At the same time, the singer has announced his collaboration with the footwear manufacturer on GQ magazine, as well as making it known to his fans on Twitter and Instagram.
