Adidas signs Manpreet Singh to endorse the brand in India

German sportswear giant Adidas has signed Indian men's hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh as its new brand ambassador in India.

As part of the endorsement deal, the Indian captain will be seen endorsing the German footwear and apparel brand in the country alongside an elite list of athletes that includes Hima Das, Swapna Burman, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, among others.
 
Commenting on his endorsement contract with Adidas, Manpreet in a statement said, "Association with Adidas is an opportunity that every sportsperson looks forward to and I am really excited to have been given this chance of joining their family. Adidas believes in nurturing talent and further carving the strengths of a sportsperson by offering the world-class products and I am looking forward to great years of association with the brand.”

Adidas's senior marketing director Sean Van Wyk added, "As India's leading sports brand, Adidas will continue to engage and empower the youth on sports fields across the country. Manpreet has been a pinnacle of inspiration for Hockey lovers and we take pride in having him join the Adidas team, and believe that he is the perfect ambassador who will inspire today's youth to take the game to the next level.”
 
Adidas is planning to scale up its retail presence in India and plans to add 50-60 stores per year across the country. The company’s association with sportspersons from different fields is expected to boost sales of the sportswear firm in India.
 
Adidas currently has around 450 stores in India and also sells online through various e-commerce platforms like Myntra, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and others.
