Adidas opens store in Select Citywalk mall, New Delhi
German sportswear brand Adidas has opened a store in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall in Saket. The store will hold a day of activities on November 30 to celebrate the store opening and engage customers offline.
Adidas has joined international brands including Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Zara, and H&M at the one of the capital’s largest malls, Select Citywalk, the mall said on Facebook. The Adidas store opened its doors to the public on Friday and will hold an opening party on Saturday.
The activities planned for Saturday will include “rob the store” which will allow shoppers to pretend to be a robber and “steal” things from the store and “shred your past” which will allow shoppers to give away the shoes they are wearing in exchange for a new pair from the Adidas Originals collection in-store. The “claw to cop” activity will let shoppers try to grab products with a claw machine and the “golden year-long shoe supply” contest will see one shopper win a year’s supply of merchandise.
Adidas recently announced its sponsorship of the Jammu and Kashmir football team Real Kashmir FC. The brand launched the team’s new jersey in-store across several select outlets on November 21.
Adidas first entered the Indian market in 1995 and retails through franchised outlets. Adidas first launched in Germany in 1949.
