Adidas extends Rohit Sharma’s contract as brand ambassador

Global sportswear firm Adidas has extended its partnership with Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma as its brand ambassador. The cricketer will continue to endorse the brand in India which he has been associated with since 2013.

As part of its marketing strategy in India, Adidas has been associating with several sports stars from the country for growth in the Indian market.
 
The company has signed deals with sportspersons like Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hima Das, Manpreet Singh, Dipika Pallikal, Zeel Desai, Nikhat Zareen, Siddhanth Banthia, Manjot Kalra, and Swapna Barman for the Indian market.

Commenting on his association with the brand, Rohit Sharma in a statement said: “In my association with the brand over the last six years, I have witnessed [that] Adidas has been a major catalyst in making a positive difference to people’s lives on the sporting field and off it. I look forward to our association going from strength to strength.”
 
Sharad Singla, director brand marketing at Adidas India added, “At Adidas, we believe through sport, we have the power to change lives, and our association with Rohit will craft new journeys for youth to look up to. We are extremely happy to continue on this journey of bringing a positive change along with Rohit.”
 
Adidas currently has around 450 stores in India and also sells online through various e-commerce platforms like Myntra, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and others.
 
Adidas is planning to scale up its retail presence in India and plans to add 50-60 stores per year across the country.
