Adidas’ new face mask line features two designs, ‘Adidas performance’ and ‘Adidas originals blue’, the brand announced in a press release. The new product line is designed to reduce the spread of coronavirus as people increasingly travel around outside as lockdown eases across the country.

“As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, people need increased protection while venturing out,” said Adidas India’s senior marketing director Manish Sapra in a press release. “The product is designed to help prevent the spread of viruses and germs through droplet transmission. We believe that the adidas Face Cover is another way we can support and work together with our consumers and community to make an even greater impact.”

The masks are made from ‘Primegreen’ fabric which is a recycled textile free from virgin plastic. The double layer masks are reusable and come in both adult and children’s sizes. Masks retail at Rs 699 for a pack of three and the introductory price is designed to encourage shoppers to wear masks and stay safe, according to the brand.

Adidas has been reallocating its design and supply chain resources to produce its reusable masks. The brand hopes that its new line of masks will relieve the burden on limited medical-grade mask supplies, it said.
