Actor Vijay Deverakonda launches apparel brand Rowdy Wear on Myntra
South Indian film actor, Vijay Deverakonda, has partnered with fashion e-commerce major Myntra to launch his apparel brand ‘Rowdy Wear’.
With this association, Rowdy Wear aims to increase its reach across the Indian market especially in tier 2 and 3 cities and towns.
Currently, the brand sells apparel and accessories that include shirts, tees, sweatshirts, kurtas, jackets, hoodies, joggers, sneakers, caps and belts, through its app and has a strong presence in south India.
Commenting on the partnership, actor Vijay Deverakonda in a statement said: “Rowdy Wear is an extension of my personality and brings with it the attitude of self-expression, in street style. This attitude is now entrenched in a majority of the country’s youth.”
Myntra’s head Amar Nagaram added: “Films have come a long way in guiding our sense of fashion and continues to influence style. Celebrities play an important role as fashion idols, both on and off-screen and their massive fan-following often helps shape the market.”
Myntra has been increasing its portfolio of celebrity brands to cash in on the popularity of actors and cricketers in India. It had recently launched actor Mahesh Babu’s The Humble Co on the platform and also houses other celebrity brands like Wrogn by cricketer Virat Kohli, HRX by Hrithik Roshan and House of Pataudi by actor, Saif Ali Khan.
