Actor Suniel Shetty launches men’s jewellery brand ‘Metaman’
Actor Suniel Shetty has launched the country’s first exclusive men’s jewellery brand ‘MetaMan’ which symbolises ‘Metal for Man’ on International Men’s Day with its debut collection.
The brand has also raised $1 million (Rs 8 crore) in seed funding from investors Nikhil Kamath, Prashanth Prakash, Gaurav Singh Kushwaha, cricketers KL Rahul and Robin Uthappa.
The collection has been designed by designer Pallavi Foley and includes bracelets, pendants, and chains made with brass, gold, and silver.
Commenting on the launch, Suniel Shetty, founding mentor of the brand in a statement said, “Through the launch of MetaMan brand, we are celebrating the return of our own men's jewellery culture. Indian traditions were once a symbol of holding the best artistry; where Indian men taught the entire world how to adorn any jewellery and became a trendsetter. Now, it’s time for India to own men's jewellery brand that celebrates culture with style and sophistication.”
Anil Shetty, co-founder Metaman added, “At MetaMan, we aim to accessorise evolved men through our contemporary designs. We believe men’s jewellery culture is not an alien thought but a forgotten one in India. We are now seeing Gen Z and millennials bringing back this trend with style. We are launching MetaMan with 20 unique designs but will have 150 designs in the next three months.”
MetaMan products have been priced from Rs 1999 onwards and will be sold exclusively from the brand’s website. MetaMan is the brainchild of Anil Shetty, Raunak Samdaria, and Yudister Narayan.
