AKS launches maternity and nursing wear line

The ethnic and fusion wear brand AKS has launched a maternity and nursing wear line. The new product line launched on its e-commerce store on June 13. 

AKS’ new product line targets pregnant and nursing women and includes a range of printed dresses made from organic cotton and rayon. The roomy clothing is designed to mix comfort with style and launched online with the idea that women can purchase items from the comfort of their own home.

The line’s first collection, spring/ summer 2019, has a colour palette of blue, green, and yellow and features western and fusion silhouettes. The collection includes waist ties, mandarin collars, and flared hems.

“AKS has launched this Maternity & Nursing Wear Collection 2019 for all to-be mothers who don’t want to compromise on style and comfort at such an important time,” said the brand’s creative head and founder Nidhi Yadav in a press release. 

AKS also recently expanded its product range to include costume jewellery. In May, the brand launched the range on its own e-commerce site as well as on Flipkart-owned Myntra’s online fashion platform. 

The company currently runs two exclusive brand outlets in the northeastern state of Nagaland. AKS’ current retail expansion plan is to add 20 more stores in the coming few years. The brand reported a revenue of Rs 100 crore ($15 million) and that it has turned profitable, with continued growth predicted.
