The AEPC has chosen the UK, Japan, and US to visit because the three countries account for close to 40% of India’s apparel exports, the traders’ body announced on June 15, the Press Trust of India reported. In each country, the AEPC will take its trade delegation to Pure London in the UK and the India Tex Trend Fair and Sourcing at Magic trade shows in the US to forge business connections with importers in the countries.

“These shows will give an opportunity to exporters to showcase their products and supply capabilities of value-added products with special emphasis on the products designed to suit fashion trends and requirements,” said the AEPC’s chairman Naren Goenka, the Press Trust of India reported.

The AEPC has seen exports to the US and UK rise as well as knitted garment exports to Japan. “The Indian exporters have a unique niche as compared to its competitors,” said Goenka. “They can cater to both small size customised orders of 300 pieces to large orders as huge as three lakh pieces of one style. This makes most of the global apparel brands from the EU, US, Australia, Japan etc source from India.”
