Entrepreneurs Hemali Jain and Priyanka Khanna have launched charitable fashion initiative Duniya 2020 with 30 designers to create exclusive t-shirts to raise money with Project Mumbai.

For Duniya 2020, 30 designers have each created exclusive t-shirts made from recycled materials to raise funds to provide medical and logistics support through Duniya’s NGO partner Project Mumbai, the initiative announced in a press release. For the project, Jain and Khanna have collaborated with multi-brand menswear store Curato’s founder, Tanisha Rahimtoola Agarwal, as well as with stylist, Sanjana Batra.
Brands and designers participating in the project include Anamika Khanna, Ridhi Mehra, Anushka Khanna, Kresha Bajaj, Péro, Payal Singhal, Kanika Goyal, Gauri Nainika, Saaksha & Kinni, Dhruv Kapoor, among others. The t-shirt collection will retail on menswear boutique Curato’s e-commerce store from July 29.
The t-shirts were created with the theme ‘Save the Earth’ and feature details such as hand-embroidery, appliqués, and slogans. Both menswear and womenswear t-shirts are available.
“It is in our hands to serve the ones who have been highly affected by the rise of the pandemic, it is our duty to lend a hand to the deprived and less fortunate, it is our fate to restore the balance of nature and therefore we strongly urge you all to support the cause and do your bit in helping create a better tomorrow,” Duniya’s founders said, in a press release.
Project Mumbai, which will receive 100% of the proceeds from the t-shirt sale, is an NGO currently working to aid people affected by Covid-19 by facilitating food distribution and transport. Project Mumbai’s founder, Shishir Joshi, plans to use funds raised from Duniya 2020 to aid disabled, physically challenged, and senior citizens.
