Changes at Dior Homme: from Kris Van Assche to Kim Jones (with interview)

The news landed on Monday 19th March: Kris Van Assche is leaving his role as Artistic Director at Dior Homme after 11 years. From his first show in 2008, where he brought in his streetwear touch, right up to the latest show presented last January, Kris Van Assche is as distinguished by new proportion looks as by his sense of tailoring. He also knew to add emotion and depth, for a silhouette which is always avant-garde, and at the same time rock, young, daring, highlighted in shows brilliantly orchestrated twice a year in Paris. LVMH which owns Dior announced that the designer will remain inside the group with a new role to be revealed soon. His departure also reveals the name of his successor, Kim Jones, who arrives from Louis Vuitton Homme, where he achieved great success notably though collaborations with brands like Supreme which were a huge hit with the younger generation. Interview of Kris Van Assche:The richness of Dior, it’s found in the team, in the atelier and it’s a way of working which is priceless. Music Bandit & Nikit - 2018
