Issey Miyake - Women's ready to wear show Spring/Summer 2018 in Paris (with interview)

Artistic Director : Yoshiyuki MiyamaeAtmosphere: Three dancers and an acrobatic choreography for the introduction of the show, demonstrating the suppleness and the liberty which leave the clothes in movement. Collection: Inspired by the memories that the designer keeps from previous travel in Iceland. Therefore we find the landscapes of nature, volcanic rock, glaciers printed onto flattened 3D shapes. Soft and light pencil dresses, long asymmetric tops. Colour appears through the pleats thus creating a visual effect. To note: A series of checkered and coloured clothes achieved with a Japanese dyeing technique called 'Dorozome'. The textile cube created by an accumulation of square fabric pieces. The graphic heeled sandals and the futuristic Velcro trainers. The fringing effects which decorate and highlight the waist, the collar and the shoulders. Interview with Issey Miyake:The theme of this collection is the piece of memory so this collection came from my memory of the landscape in Iceland which I saw last time, so I went to Iceland I got many new inspirations, I saw the beautiful landscape and then we started. It’s based with a simple pattern, like a square and also land, so the image comes from that, so the dress, I’ll show you…like this… and Iceland here so I went to this point… and also Japan’s here too.
