The Woolmark Company’s stand presented the latest edition of the Wool Lab, with a particularly eye-catching collection of selvedges in varying colours and graphics to showing the artistic value associated with these venerable labels of quality and historic worth.

Some of the leading international suiting names such as Raymond, Goldentex, Luxury Fabrics, Charles Clayton, Yunsa, Hield Bros, Kiplic, Altinyildiz and Nanshan had significant collections in wool in their summer ranges. Likewise many more mills across the globe are blending Merino wool with fibres such as silk, linen etc. for a new handle and appeal to customers.

Goldentex, members of the Australian Superfine Merino club latest collection featured the concept of Merino wool with Tencel for the summer collection for both men and women. In this collection the soft and highly performing attributes of wool is adding a new feel and several advantages and technical features to the cellulosic fibre. It showed a range of classically understated fine suiting fabrics as well as more jaunty coloured checks for jackets.

Hield Bros summer collection, illustrated the more casual jacketings. The collection stressed on the technical aspects and good performance, with lightness and coolness being paramount and crease resistance important - a frequent requirement for today’s savvy customers.

The recent Premiere Vision Paris show has addressed the new season for summer 2017 with its own inimitable style, lightweight wool, bringing forward the fresh spring-like colours.
