Woodland to add 60 stores in India, enter new international markets

Adventure and outdoor footwear major Woodland from Aero Group is looking to expand aggressively in India and abroad in order to maintain its annual growth rate of 25 percent in the coming years.

Woodland will strengthen its position in the Indian market with the addition of 60 stores across small towns and metros in India. The company is also scouting for partners to foray into new international markets.
 
Woodland had generated sales revenue of Rs1350 (approx $210.8 million) last fiscal and is expecting revenue growth by the end of this current fiscal.

 “We are planning to open more EBOs across India. We are planning to add another 60 stores in this financial year that would be an equivalent combination of small towns and metros. We are currently working on entering into more foreign countries and strengthening our presence in South-East Asia, West Asia, Europe and the US.,” Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Woodland told India Retailing.
 
“We have recently expanded our business in collaboration with Aokang International to enter China. We are planning similar collaborations in some South African countries and Canada,” he added.
 
Woodland had entered the Indian market in 1992 and currently has over 600 company-owned stores and 5,000 multi-retail outlets across the country.
