Wadhwani will show her “Solstice” collection on Friday, February 16, and she will be one of only two Indian and India-based fashion designers showing at the upcoming autumn/winter 2018 season of London Fashion Week. Wadhwani’s collection will also be ready to purchase as soon as the show begins, a move increasingly popular with fashion designers.

In a press release, Wadhwani described her muse for the collection as carefree, easy going, and nomadic; a woman who goes her own way and thrives in her own world.

The contrast of light and shadow will also play a key part in the collection, said the press release. The colour scheme will include yellow, black, and white, and bees and a honeycomb inspired print will also be featured throughout the collection as well as stripes and simple floral print textiles.

“The A/W’18 line is especially focused on being season-less,” said Wadhwani. “The separates comprise of structured dresses, deconstructed jackets, sheer skirts, soft layers, geometric applique and block-printed organzas in monochromes and metallics,” she elaborated.

Vidhi Wadhwani graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, and went on to design for Nandita Basu and Genesis Colors among others. Wadhwani set up her eponymous label in 2009 in Mumbai and has both couture and pret lines.
