Bahl’s runway show is scheduled for 9.30PM at ICW’s main venue, Taj Palace. Of his collection, Bahl said, “My inspiration, Alphonse Mucha’s masterpieces, reflect the resulting bohemian and feminine influence along with the natural floral lines. I hope to showcase this same blend of classic and modern artistic pieces on the runway this year.” Bahl went on to say that it is the “modern woman” who still looks to history for inspiration that has always inspired his designs. Bahl has been sharing snippets of his inspiration for his upcoming collection on his Facebook page but no garments have been unveiled yet.

Bahl recently launched Aurum, a décor company, and opened a flagship store in New Delhi. The interior design branch of Bahl’s design empire specialises in wedding decoration and reflects the overall aesthetics of his brand. The e-commerce site for Aurum is currently in the process of being set up.

Varun Bahl has an exclusive concession in New Delhi’s DLF Emporio and his designs are available online such as in Pernia’s Pop-up Shop. Along with his couture label, Bahl has a menswear ready to wear label in collaboration with the Indian filmmaker Karan Johar called Karan Johar + Varun Bahl which they launched in 2010.
