Indian hosiery giant Dollar Industries reported its turnover to have more than doubled in a span of six years, from Rs 396 crore in 2010 to Rs 829.94 crore in the fiscal 2015-16, attributed to its mega star Brand Ambassador – Akshay Kumar.

Dollar Industries reported its turnover to have more than doubled in a span of six years, from Rs 396 crore in 2010 to Rs 829.94 crore.

“It has been an overwhelming and satisfying journey for Dollar Industries with the brand making inroads in the hosiery segment, also consolidating its position in India and abroad. Ever since we have signed Mr. Akshay Kumar in 2010 as the Brand Ambassador of Dollar Bigboss, the growth has been exemplary. He is our brand’s lucky mascot,” Vinod Kumar Gupta, MD of Dollar commented.
“We are targeting a turnover of Rs 1000 crore in the current fiscal, and have an aggressive sales and marketing plan to achieve it. We would be increasing our presence across India with special emphasis on South India,” he added.
The company today enjoys a market share of 15 per cent in the branded hosiery segment of India. It is among the top three premium brands in the country.
It also plans to diversify its product category nationwide and to increase the e-commerce share in its turnover.
