German leather goods brand Tsatsas and Kvadrat/Raf Simons have collaborated on a handbag collection that features textiles designed by Raf Simons.

Tsatsas

Frankfurt-based Tsatsas is well known in the German industry for its fine leather goods which can be recognised for their contemporary design, exquisite proportions and attention to detail. This season the brand is expanding its collection of materials with richly textured designs, created by Raf Simons himself.

The collection, titled ‘So_Far’, includes five versions of Tsatsas’ iconic Fluke tote bag, each featuring cowhide linings and Kvadrat’s sturdy textiles.

This is the first time the Danish home textiles and accessories brand collaborates with a fashion label. Esther Schulze-Tsatsas, co-founder of the label, said they were inspired by the colors and quality of the textiles.

The handbag collection focuses on the contrast between these textiles and natural leather.

The designers see the project So_Far as a separate edition intended to complement the existing Tsatsas collection. The designs will go on sale in January 2017 at selected international shops and online.

There will be only 50 pieces of each design.
