Despite the challenge of organising any collaboration between India and Pakistan, especially under the current political climate, Pakistani designer Huma Nassr of the brand Braahti is bringing together artists and designers from the two countries once again for Shaan-e-Pakistan.

Two Indian designers that have already been confirmed for this edition are Anju Modi and Sushmita Sen. Moreover, the focus will be even more on fashion this year and more designers are set to be announced.

The third edition of Shaan-e-Pakistan was originally scheduled to take place in New Delhi in spring but security concerns make that impossible. Nassr stated that, “Security is a major concern for us and people don’t realise that there is a huge effort that goes into what you see on stage. We try to remember that fashion connects people to people and try not to focus on politics.”

In this way the three day event is set to go ahead, but this time in Karachi. While the event will also include art and music from the two countries, the focus this time will be high-end fashion. Nassr stated that, “This Luxury Prive’ Edition will bring together the best in fashion to the platform.”

Nassr’s own brand Braahti will be featured and there will be multiple fashion shows during the event. After some criticism over the quality of the content of the second edition, Nassr stated that this edition will strive to better itself and tighter organisation will ensure this.

Nassr said, “Each time we aim for stronger content so this year Javed Bashir has created a song for Shaan-e-Pakistan. For the fashion section we will get a renowned stylist on board so when fashion designers come on board they have someone overlooking everything.”

The event will run from the 6th to the 8th September in Karachi.
