The Summer House comes to Mumbai

The Summer House, a clothing brand by Shivangini Parihar and Rekha Datla, will debut its new collection at the multi-brand boutique Clove in Mumbai with a pop-up shop.

From April 20 to 23, the Bengaluru based label, The Summer House, will be available to shoppers in Mumbai at an exclusive pop-up shop. The brand will be hosted by Clove, a multi-brand boutique situated in the Colaba district that houses an array of Indian designer brands.

The event, which is open to the public, will see the brand debut its spring/ summer collection entitled “A Place Called Summer”. The collection is simple in design and based on feelings of nostalgia and discovery. The colour palette is pastel and fabrics used include linen an organic cotton.

Clove was founded by Samyukta Nair who has brought brands from all over India to her boutique. Speaking about The Summer House, Nair told Vogue India: “I most like their ability to combine Indian craft with responsible processes to create modern pieces.” The boutique has a focus on sustainable fashion and so Nair works to collaborate with new ethical brands.

Speaking about the concept of pop-up stores, one which is becoming hugely popular in India, Nair opined: “By way of our pop-ups, we wish to create a platform to showcase India’s talent at work. Moreover, pop-ups give us the ability to engage with patrons on a personal level and create distinctive experiences that make Clove a dynamic space for them to keep coming back to.”
