Childlike styling was mixed with elegant jewel tones for the Meraki Project by Sonali Pamnani’s Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) winter/ festive runway show.

The Meraki Project's LFW show included childlike illustrations and loose, casual pieces - The Meraki Project- Facebook

The most striking element of the Meraki Project’s collection which was entitled “Little Hearts” was the embroidered patches that decorated Pamnani’s garments. These patches were based on children’s drawings and added the quirky yet casual appeal that we have come to expect from the Meraki Project. Models played on a swing and skipped down the runway as they showcased Pamnani’s loose dresses and kurtas.

With the brand teasing details on its Facebook page in the run-up to the event, the show’s special guest was also teased on the brand’s social media, asking fans to guess who she was. The special guest was revealed as Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame and she closed the show and walked arm in arm with Pamnani.

The Meraki Project was launched in 2014 by Sonali Pamnani with the aim of modernising Indian handwoven textiles in a fun and dynamic way. The brand has its own e-commerce store and is available in a variety of fashion boutiques in metro cities including Pune, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
