Tanishq turns south for growth

Titan's jewellery brand is looking to gain a bigger market share in the south and has plans to merge with gold plus outlets for growth.

"In rural south India, where gold plus outlets have more of plain gold jewellery, the stores would now have more varieties of studded jewellery, belonging to the Tanishq portfolio," Biju Alex, the regional business head of south told the Times of India.

Tanishq also announced the re-launch of their showroom in Velachery in Chennai. The showroom is spread across 3,000 sqft carpet area and has an array of grand and wedding jewelry in gold, kundan, polki and diamonds to contemporary jewelry.

The brand currently has 17 outlets in Tamil Nadu and 7 in Chennai.
