St. John Knits has appointed an ex-LVMH boss Geoffroy van Raemdonck as chief executive officer of the company. He takes over from Glenn McMahon who held the role since 2007.

Van Raemdonck previously served as president of South Europe for Louis Vuitton and has racked up almost 20 years’ experience in retail. During his time at the luxury brand, the seasoned executive led operations in 22 countries which generated over one billion dollars in sales. Prior to his time at Louis Vuitton, Geoffroy van Raemdonck also held positions at Limited Brands and The Boston Consulting Group.

Chairman Bernd Beetz is looking to the new CEO’s expertise to lead the company into its next stage of development: "Geoffroy has an unparalleled understanding of global wholesale and retail that will be integral as we continue to strengthen and grow the business worldwide."

St. John Knits, founded in 1962, has evolved from a family-run business to a global luxury brand based in Irvine, California. The brand is currently sold in 26 countries across the world and has 25 company-owned stores.
