Snapdeal in a statement claimed that it got a majority of its orders from tier 2, 3 cities with more than 75 percent of the orders coming from buyers in non-metro cities during the sale.

During the sale, Snapdeal's orders also increased 2.5 times compared to normal days across categories like fashion, home goods, and accessories.

Some of the most popular items that were sold on Snapdeal during the sale included sarees, bedsheets, beard trimmers, sunglasses, men's slippers, men's watches, and more.

Snapdeal’s Mega Diwali sale event held from October 10 to 14 has somewhat managed to further revive the fortunes of the company.

The company currently ships around 150,000-175,000 orders a day and the number is expected to go up as there are a lot of festivals coming up in India over the next three months.

The Gurugram-based company Snapdeal was once among India’s top three e-commerce firms competing with the likes of Amazon and Flipkart, however, it has now fallen far behind these giants.
