Shree – The Indian Avatar to reach 200 stores in the next two years

The ethnic wear brand Shree – The Indian Avatar plans to reach a store count of 200 within the next two years and double its current store count to 56 this fiscal year, concentrating on smaller cities.




“In the next two years, we see ourselves expanding to at least 200 outlets pan-India,” Shree – The Indian Avatar’s managing director, Sandeep Kapoor, told Images Retail Bureau. “We plan to swell our retail reach in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.”

For the current fiscal year, the brand us focussing on “smaller cities”. Kapoor explained that the aim is to open “more than 20 stores in Tier II and Tier III cities and towns.” The most recent store openings, which all took place last month, were in New Delhi’s Indra Park, Jalandhar’s Model Town and Jyoti Chowk, Ghaziabad, and Kirti Nagar. The standard store size for the brand is 400 square feet but some new stores will be of a larger format of up to 1,500 square feet.

Shree – The Indian Avatar was launched two years ago and currently has 28 exclusive business outlets across India. The brand has 2,500 points of sale and is present in 150 multi-brand outlets as well as retailing from its dedicated e-commerce store. Specialising in ethnic wear, the brand retails an array of kurtas, dupattas, and patialas among others and produces an average of 120 new styles a month.
