Shantanu-Nikhil unveil 'Independence’ collection with Parineeti, Arjun as showstoppers

Designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil launched their new Autumn-Winter 2018 collection titled "Independence" with Bollywood actors Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor walking as showstoppers at an event in the national capital.
 

For the Independence line, the designers have taken its inspiration from vintage India and aim to highlight three forms of freedom that are to choose; to live and to call oneself proud citizens through their various creations. The collection includes both menswear and womenswear.
 
“Through this collection Shantanu & Nikhil has commenced its initiation into the world of Progressive India with nuances from the rich heritage of India and eclectic resonances of what India is today,” said Shantanu in an interview with IANS.

 “As a brand Shantanu and Nikhil is based on Indian values however this season Independence derives its inspiration from vintage India but also glorifies contemporary values by amalgamating modernity and its exotic values with sensibilities of the rich heritage of India,” added Nikhil.
 
Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra had launched their label in January 2000 and specialise in traditional and fusion occasion wear.
 
The brand has three main product lines: Shantanu and Nikhil Haute Couture, Shantanu and Nikhil Drape (ready to wear), and Shantanu and Nikhil Co. (gift items). The brand has retail outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.
