As part of the mall’s expansion plans, company officials are currently searching for a site upon which to open a new Select Citywalk mall. The original Select Citywalk is located in the Saket area of New Delhi but the business is looking beyond the Delhi-NCR region for its next shopping centre, although it is expected that the capital region will remain its first preference.

Yogeshwar Sharma, the CEO of Select Citywalk, said: “Now we want to get into another mall. Now, we are in the process of deciding size of the mall… location of the mall, [and] how can you make it a smart mall which is the only channel from day one.”

The mall is currently expanding into e-commerce as a way to expand offline reach. In its early stages, the business is introducing a loyalty programme and home delivery in the NCR region.

Of the online shopping competition, Sharma said: “In the next mall what we are planning we will have these categories which are futuristic, which cannot go online, will have more prominence and more percentage of category mix cinema, entertainment and the best use of technology to run these smartly.”

Select Citywalk, which has the highest rating for sales per square foot in India, is also looking at all management as a way to expand. The business has already started managing the Shipra Mall in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, and they are looking for more mall managing opportunities.
