Sabyasachi Mukherjee to speak at Harvard University India conference

The Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is set to speak at the Harvard University “India- Disruptive Innovations” conference from February 10 and 11.

This February will see America’s world renowned Harvard University focus on India for their “India- Disruptive Innovations” conference. Along with Mukherjee, Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, and actor Kamal Haasan will address the 15th edition of the annual India conference at Harvard University this year.

“We aim to bring together India’s thought leaders for a weekend of discussions and brainstorming sessions to unravel these exciting opportunities that lay ahead for our country,” said the Harvard student organisers of the event. Mukherjee has taken part in a number of international collaborations this year including with the Lane Crawford department store in Hong Kong and with Christian Louboutin. The designer also launched his first jewellery collection this year and so he will have much to say about the Indian fashion industry.

Other speakers from India that are scheduled to speak at the event include Telangana Minister for IT, Industry, and Commerce K T Rama Rao, BJP MP Poonam Mahajan, actress Divya Spandana (who is also in charge of social media for the Indian National Congress), and Nitin Paranjpe, ex-CEO of Unilever India and the current President of Unilever Home Care. The Quality Council of India’s Chairman Adil Zainulbhai, KKR India CEO Sanjay Nayar, Yes Bank CEO Rana Kapoor, author Amish Tripathi, and journalists Rahul Kanwal and Nidhi Razdan are also expected to be among other speakers at the conference.
