Under the theme ‘Future trends in man-made fibre’, the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) will organise its flagship 'Source India-2016', a global buyer sellers meet for the man-made fabric (MMF) and textile industry on August 13-14, 2016, in Surat.

More than 200 buyers from over 36 countries have been invited by SRTEPC to participate in the two-day Source India summit, to be held for the first time in Surat.

Organising the show in Surat acquires importance because the city alone meets 40 per cent of India’s MMF fabric demand, and accounts for nearly 44 per cent of 5,000 SRTEPC members from India.

At an exhibitor roadshow organised by SRTEPC in the city, Anil Rajvanshi, chairman, and vice-chairman Narain Agarwal urged MMF manufacturers in Surat to participate in Source India to get greater exposure to fibre, yarn and fabric manufactured by them.

Buyers from global markets, and large Indian apparel and sportswear brands have been invited at the Source India meet, which provides an opportunity to showcase Surat’s prowess to the world, said Rajvanshi.

During the two-day event, in addition to fashion shows, fashion forecast will be made for the next year.

The SRTEPC aims to achieve $9 billion in MMF export from India.
