Rome's Accademia Costume & Moda fashion academy and the School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) in Pune, India, have agreed on a deal to run joint educational courses in fashion. The joint programmes will relate to the three-year course in Fashion Design and the master courses in Fashion Buying & Merchandising and Brand Design.

SOFT was founded in 1998 and has quickly become one of the leading institutions in India in the field of fashion education. It combines tradition with a strong focus on theory and technique, very much in the same spirit as Accademia Costume & Moda, which was a new entry in the 2016 ranking by Business of Fashion of the world's top 50 fashion schools worldwide.

Both institutions are closely linked to the fashion industry, and put at their students' disposal a remarkable know-how in apparel creation and production. The agreement establishes a creative bridge between Italian style and Indian manufacturing.
