Renaissaa Fashion Show searches for fresh design talent

Renaissance Entertainment will host the Renaissaa Fashion Show from March 16 to 18 at the University of Delhi to search for India’s next generation of design talent.

The Renaissaa Fashion Show is a three day event that will feature runway shows by new designers selected from across India. This January will see between 50 and 60 designers selected from the first round of auditions that will take place in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jaipur, and Lucknow. The candidates that are selected will go on to showcase their designs at the University of Delhi and the winner of the contest will be awarded a monetary prize as well as the opportunity to take part in the production of a music video.

The three day event has a different theme for each day and these are, day one- martyrdom, day two- art celebration (Renaissance, literature, and theatre), and day three- women empowerment. As the runway show contest is looking to find “fresh talent”, no qualifications are required for applicants and the idea is to uncover India’s unknown designers.

The fashion show will also be enlisting models and wardrobe assistants with the aim of giving those starting out in the industry some experience. The winner of this contest will no doubt go on to make an impact in Indian fashion and so many from the industry will be watching closely.
