Reliance Trends is expected to launch its products on Flipkart and Amazon in the coming months, according to two people familiar with the matter.

“They primarily run a private brand operation and that is the base of that business and it makes sense to go to marketplaces,” said a person familiar with Reliance Trends’ plans for marketplaces. “I would say they are away by a few months... By the end of this season or early next season they should be online (on marketplaces).”

A spokesperson for Amazon declined to comment. “We don’t comment on anything we may or may not do in the future,” the spokesperson said in an e-mailed response. Flipkart also declined to comment while Reliance Retail did not respond to e-mail seeking comments. Akhilesh Pradas, CEO of Reliance Trends did not respond to calls and text messages sent to his mobile phone.

Reliance Trends currently operates more than 300 outlets in around 180 cities. In April 2016, Reliance Industries entered ecommerce fashion retail though a platform called Ajio.
