Mishra’s “Bird Song” collection was in partnership with Project Eve, a new chain of retail stores that host fashion, beauty, salons, and events management services. The chain was launched by Reliance Retail in June and the stores are now present in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi among others.

Special guest Shraddha Kapoor closed Mishra’s show in a heavily embroidered white lehenga that featured birds and flowers and was paired with a matching red blouse. Embroidered birds could be found on many of Mishra’s designs bringing to mind his inspiration for the collection and many different techniques of embroidery were used including 3D flowers and metallic yarn.

Mishra’s collection of lehengas and sarees featured outfits in every colour of the rainbow as well as monochrome looks. Iridescent silks and organza textiles created soft movement and, along with the more traditional garments, coat dresses also formed part of the collection.

Rahul Mishra, originally from Malhausi, has both a ready to wear line and a couture line and he launched them in 2008 in Mumbai. Mishra is known for his use of traditional Indian handlooms and craftwork.
