Procter & Gamble has strengthened the role of David Taylor, currently global president of grooming & health, by adding beauty to the list. An activity that is on the decline for the American group of hygiene and cosmetics products, says the Wall Street Journal.

David Taylor thus becomes Procter & Gamble's global president of beauty, grooming & health. He is now responsible for 43% of the American giant's activity, which amounts to 83.1 billion dollars, said the newspaper.

David Taylor also appears to be the potential successor to Alan George, who was called up to the position of CEO in 2013. A position that he already held between 2000 and 2009.

In addition, Procter & Gamble has appointed Patrice Louvet group president of global cosmetics, thus reporting to David Taylor. The two men succeed Deborah Henretta, who is now director of the group's e-commerce, a newly created position.

The American group, whose growth is at a standstill, is currently rehauling its brand portfolio.
