Procter & Gamble has sold the hair brand and hair salons Frederic Fekkai to Designer Parfums and Luxe Brands for an undisclosed amount.

As part of the acquisition, the UK fragrance manufacturer and distributor Designer Parfums and the personal care and fragrance brand distributor Luxe Brands have created a joint venture called Fekkai Brands. The acquisition will take effect on June 30.

Overwhelmingly based in North America, the brand is distributed in a selective network and has seven hair salons in the United States. It employs 225 people who will now be incorporated into the new structure. Frederic Fekkai, the French hairdresser and founder of the brand, meanwhile, will retain an advisory role.

One year ago, Designer Parfum, which owns Jean Patou fragrances, already purchased the dermatological cosmetics brand DDF Skincare from the health and beauty giant, Procter & Gamble.

Procter & Gamble, meanwhile, has continued to reorganize its brand portfolio following its sale of Rochas to Interparfums in March.
