Paytm elevates Kiran Vasireddy to COO of payments division

India’s leading digital payments firm Paytm has elevated Kiran Vasireddy to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) position for their payments business. Vasireddy was the Chief Financial Officer and HR head at the company.

Vasireddy will now oversee all product and business functions for the payments division which aims to bring half a billion Indians into the mainstream economy.

“Kiran and his team built our payments business and led it to top of the charts in India. Under his leadership, Paytm will reach new heights and create many global benchmarks,” said Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

“We are absolutely committed to make digital payments extremely simple and accessible. This year, we are aiming for ten million merchants on our platform, which puts us on the right path to build one of the largest payment networks in the world,” Kiran Vasireddy said in a statement.
 
Vasireddy has been with Paytm for over a decade and has held several key business roles at the company. He played a pivotal part in leading their payment solution to become the country’s leading digital payment method.

He also spearheaded Paytm’s expansion into offline payments and QR code solution across large organized retailers, parking lots, hospitals, tolls, petrol pumps, corporate food courts and neighborhood offline stores, the company said.
