The e-commerce major has said that it managed to get 50 million visitors on its platform and managed to increase its gross merchandise value (GMV) by 30 percent during the first four days of the sale.

Paytm Mall had set a target of gross sales worth $750 million for its seven-day festive sale.

"Interestingly, during this sale, we have also seen a lot of buyers coming from tier II and III cities who are first time buyers...EMI and bank offers have helped in 3X growth in transactions during the sale period," Mothey added.

Paytm Mall has partnered with several brands for its sale event and is offering cash backs and gold worth over Rs 501 crore ($67.8 million) to customers shopping during the sale.
