Nimish Shah steps into menswear

Womenswear designer Nimish Shah has launched his first ever menswear collection. Called Mr Shift, the line features recycled fabrics and simple, mix-and-match designs.

Nimish Shah has a successful womenswear line that is available on e-commerce sites such as Pernia’s Pop Up shop and it is known for its elegant simplicity. Shah has now stepped into the world of menswear with his debut capsule collection and he has carried over that same classic and utilitarian style into these new designs.

The aim of the collection for Shah’s new label Mr Shift is for pieces to be combined together in endless ways to create a stand-alone wardrobe. For the collection, Shah imagined a man called Mr Shift who is somewhat of a dishevelled intellectual and so the pieces have a cosmopolitan yet thrown together feel. Jackets in the collection are made from recycled textiles and khadi textiles are used for the work shirts, adding a sustainable element to the designs. More formal items are also included in the collection such as a mustard yellow velvet swing jacket and the overall feel of the collection is at once relaxed and discerning.

Shah’s debut menswear collection will be available at both Good Earth multi-brand stores across India and at Nappa Dori lifestyle stores where the collection is launching this October.
