“We are glad to announce Neeru’s 50th store launch in Hyderabad,” said Kumar at the store’s launch event. “It’s been a very long journey for Neeru’s from [a] 50 square foot space store to 400,000 square feet of retail space pan India.” The store stocks Neeru’s full range of ethnic wear which includes sarees, kurtas, men’s sets, dupattas, and accessories.

Neeru’s is currently undergoing a large scale retail expansion and also opened its first store in Pune in May this year. The brand will be looking into franchising as another way to expand and plans to use this model to target rural areas. After expanding internationally with a store in Dubai, the brand also aims to sell its products in the Middle East and the US in the near future.

The brand was launched in 1971 by Basant Kaur as a tailor and textile supplier and became the ethnic wear brand that it is today in 1991. The brand now has 49 stores in 25 states in India and one store in Dubai.
