Sonam Kapoor, who stars in the upcoming film Veere Di Wedding, is Neeru’s new brand ambassador and will be promoting the ethic wear brand in its upcoming marketing campaigns. “We are proud to welcome Sonam Kapoor to Neeru’s family. The style diva’s fashion style complements the brand’s legacy and her vibrant persona, elegance and popularity makes her a great fit for our brand,” said Avnish Kumar, the Director of Neeru’s. Mentioning her fame as both an actress and fashion lover, Kumar expressed excitement at having her on board.

“Neeru’s is a one-stop shop for the entire family for wedding shopping,” said Kapoor, who will be promoting the brand as part of her contract. Alongside new marketing campaigns featuring Kapoor, the brand is also looking to step up its presence in Tier 2 and 3 cities and aims to open several EBOs (exclusive business outlets) in the near future.

Neeru’s was launched in 1971 by Basant Kaur in Hyderabad. By 1983, Kaur’s son, Harish Kumar, had started selling wholesale fabric to over 1,000 retailers across India and swiftly added handloom textiles to their product categories. In 1991, Kumar decided to diversify the business to include ethnic wear as he saw a lack of it in the market at the time. From then on, Neeru’s began to focus on ethnic wear garments and has done so to this day. Neeru’s is currently present in 12 cities, 11 states, and two countries.
