Singh debuted “The Strokes” which, as she posted on her social media sites such as Facebook in the lead up to the show, was inspired by “earthiness”, “florals”, and ”sketch”. Singh’s inspiration could clearly be seen in the detailing on her garments which featured floral embroidery with sketchy lines and simple charm. The main colours in the collection were greys, blacks, and whites which served as backgrounds for her striking floral embroidery.

Singh has become known for her loose shaped garments and monochrome, earthy colour palate and this collection delivered more of her signature looks. Hemlines were mostly long and constrasted with crop tops and smart-casual jackets. Grey stripes were the other main print alongside the sketchy wildflowers and this made Singh’s collection both bohemian and sophisticated. Singh herself walked the runway in one of her grey striped casual suits.

Nakita Singh hails from Kolkata and has shown collections at LFW for some years now. Singh’s designs are available on several e-commerce platforms including The Secret Label.
