Myntra witnesses surge in sales during EORS, 5 million items sold in 4 days

Online fashion retailer Myntra said that it sold over 5 million items during its flagship event End of Reason Sale (EORS), held from December 22 to 25, thereby making Myntra’s 7th edition the biggest-ever in terms of sales.

During the four days, Myntra claimed that over 1.7 million customers shopped on the platform making it one of the biggest sale events for the company. The online firm also saw 65 percent rise in new customers.
The tier II and tier III markets were the major contributors with over 60 percent sales coming from these cities with the other 40 from metros.
The sports category once again ruled the EORS event clocking 22 percent of the overall sales making it the highest selling category on the platform. Myntra is the undisputed leader in the sportswear segment with 40% share of the overall online market.
The other categories that did well during the sale event were men's casual and women's western wear. Personal care and Home furnishing also grew by over 300% & 400 % respectively over a normal day, the company said.
“With over 5 million items sold, 60% sales from Tier 2 and 3 cities and 5lakh new customers, this edition of Myntra’s End of Reason Sale has been the biggest ever. We are working round the clock to ensure that all products are delivered to our customers on or before the 31st of December in order for them to begin the New Year in style,” said Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra – Jabong in a statement.
“The Myntra App ranked no.1 app on IOS and as the top shopping app on Google Playstore during the sale,” added Narayanan.
Myntra’s EORS event in June saw 1.3 million customers shop on the fashion platform ordering a total of 4.2 million products with sports dominating the sale as the most popular category.
