Flipkart owned online fashion retailer Myntra said that it sold over 4.2 million products, registering a sales growth of 56% surpassing the goal of 45% set by the firm before the start of its flagship End of Reason Sale (EORS) event, the company said in a statement.
Myntra’s EORS event saw a record 1.3 million customers shop on the fashion platform ordering a total of 4.2 million products with sports dominating the sale as the most popular category.
“The sixth edition of EORS has by far been the biggest along with Jabong’s participation. With record traffic to our platforms at 183% over base line and a whopping 1.3 million customers participating in the sale,” Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra & Jabong said in a statement.
Myntra did not share any revenue numbers with regards to the recently concluded sale but with a growth of 56% it is likely to have clocked sales of over Rs 800 crore.
During its previous end-of-season sale event in January, Myntra generated sales of about Rs 408 crore over three days, including sales from Jabong.
Myntra along with Jabong is expected to double the sales revenue generated during its last EORS event. With sellers offering heavy discounts to liquidate their stock and price rises expected post-Goods and Services Tax (GST), the majority Indians went on a shopping spree last weekend which is likely to have benefited e-tailers.
Myntra and Jabong were competing with a host of other e-commerce firms including Amazon Fashion during the fashion sale.
