Flipkart owned online fashion firms have collaborated with Silicon Valley based learning platform Udacity to impart technical knowledge to its employees.
Early this year, the fashion firms had announced that it will invest heavily in technology and also ramp up hiring in the sector. The partnership with Udacity is also a part of the company’s expansion plan in the Silicon Valley.
Myntra had said that it will be hiring more Data Scientists this year and that its biggest investment will be in technology in 2018.
The company already has a small presence in the Silicon Valley post its acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up Fitiquette and the latest partnership with Udacity is further expected to boost its presence in the Valley.
In India, the fashion firms have already started using tech, machine learning and AI through every business process and it is imperative for them to upskill their employees in order to remain relevant and competitive in the fast changing e-commerce market.
With this collaboration, employees of the Flipkart firms will have access to Udacity's courses on machine learning and deep learning, thereby equipping them with skills that are required to apply futuristic technologies.
They will also gain access to Udacity's Machine Learning Foundation, Machine Learning Basic, Machine Learning Advanced, and Deep Learning Foundation Nanodegree programmes.
