Michael Kors and Fujifilm on Wednesday debuted the Michael Kors x Fujifilm Instax Mini 70 instant film camera, the first-ever fashion partnership for Fujifilm.
The Mini 70 camera produces physical photos in an instant and features a smart selfie mode that automatically adjusts settings to capture the right photo. The camera’s design is directly inspired by Michael Kors’ Scout handbag collection and features a gold metallic color, brand logo and Michael Kors’ signature. Other add-on items for the Mini 70 camera include an Instax photo scrapbook, leather Instax photo keychain and gold-tone chain camera strap for the camera itself.
“With the popularity of Instagram, there’s been this huge resurgence lately of film—and I love that,” said Michael Kors. “Using instant photography has always been such an integral part of my creative process, whether it’s snapping photos of looks in preparation for the shows or taking behind-the-scenes shots. Now we use the INSTAX Mini everywhere from the runway, to the office, to everyday life. It provides the perfect combination of timeless, tangible photos with fast-paced glamour and modern technology.”
The Scout handbag collection from Michael Kors, the inspiration for the Fujifilm collaboration, is crafted from smooth leather and features a silhouette that nods to vintage cameras and retro style. The handbag is available in walnut, black, admiral and cherry colors among others.
The Michael Kors x Fujifilm Instax Mini 70 instant film camera will be available through the holiday 2016 season.
