The event was organised by Reed Midem, and provided international retailers, brands and investors with an in-depth, specialist view of the Italian commercial real estate market.

Among the leading retail real estate players present were Carrefour, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, ECE, Eurocommercial, GCI, Generali, IGD, JLL, Larry Smith, McArthur Glen, Svicom, Sonae Sierra, Multi and Promos, as well as new entries Klépierre, Falcon Mall (Arabian Center) and Westfield. They were joined by major multinational brands such as  Bestseller, Desigual, Dolce&Gabbana, Five Guys, Focus Brand, Gamestop, Kik, Media World, Mondo, Pandora, Sephora and Tigotà.

The event also hosted the first Food&Beverage Retail Summit organised in collaboration with JLL, with a dedicated exhibition area showcasing 33 Italian retail concepts, and a sector-specific conference programme. Twice Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck was guest of honour at the summit, introducing his latest catering format devised for airports, called Attimi. Among the leading Italian Food&Beverage groups present at Mapic Italy, there were the Autogrill group, currently operating in 31 countries worldwide, and the Chef’s Express group.

"Mapic Italy is now established as one of the leading Mapic events worldwide. Besides the main event held in Cannes, other Mapic shows this year will be staged in China, Russia and India. The retail real estate market is growing at an exciting pace, and for us it is important to provide all the industry's major players with the opportunity to grow their business, forge new partnerships and stay abreast of the sector's latest key trends," said Filippo Rean, Real Estate Division Director at Reed Midem.
