The Spanish brand recently announced that it would be stepping into Indian offline retail with Myntra and has now unveiled its plans to open a brick and mortar store in New Delhi to commence its expansion strategy.

Mango was first listed on Myntra’s e-commerce site in 2014 and has since gone on to become one of the top five selling womenswear brands on the marketplace. After buying eight Mango outlets from the previous franchisees, namely DLF Brands and Major brands, Myntra is now responsible for managing Mango’s Indian operations. This includes Mango’s own e-commerce site, the brand’s presence on Myntra itself, and any brick and mortar stores in the country.

Mango has previously stated that between 25 and 30 Mango flagship stores are planned to launch in partnership with Myntra and just announced that the first of these will be located in Select Citywalk in New Delhi. Select Citywalk is a multi-brand shopping mall that houses international fashion brands such as Armani Exchange, Accessorize, Adidas, Gant, and Tommy Hilfiger. The mall is situated in Saket, New Delhi, and the Mango store will reside on the mall’s ground floor alongside other brands in the international high-street sector such as H&M and Zara. Mango previously had a store at this location but it was closed after Mango cut its ties with its previous partners.

The outlet, which will be over 2,000 square feet, will open for the holiday season. Yogeshwar Sharma, the CEO and Executive Director of Select Citywalk said about the opening: “We will be relaunching Mango which is reopening on October 5 this year.”
