Maison Martin Margiela, which has just named John Galliano as its new creative director, is opening its first retail outlet in Milan exclusively dedicated to men's and women's accessories. The store will notably sell shoes, bags, objects, jewellery, small leather goods and glasses, as announced in a press release by the OTB-owned (Diesel, Viktor & Rolf...) brand, an Italian fashion group created by Renzo Rosso.

The 72 m² store is located at 5 Via Vincenzo Capelli in the renovated Porta Nuova district in Milan. This district, which has developed at the foot of the UniCredit Bank skyscraper, has turned itself into a fashion hub, already home to Sephora, Replay, Les Hommes, Costume National and Louboutin.

The OTB Group took options on several spaces in Porta Nuova, where, after the inauguration of the Maison Martin Margiela store, it plans to also open a Dsquared2 store, a label produced and distributed under license by the Group.

The Maison Martin Margiela store is refined, luminous, and off the wall, faithful to the House's style with a smooth concrete floor, thick white curtains, 'trompe l’oeil' Hausmann carpets and mirrors on the ceiling," writes the press release.

"The decorative objects are exhibited in glass alcoves, in a space designed as a cabinet of curiosities. The shoes are displayed on shelves made of thin sheets of metal contained among long white curtains," the house also specified.

The brand has more than 50 stores around the world.
