BatchTag officially launched on February 27 and launched its social media sites on February 28. The brand, created by Dr Madhukar Gangadi of the Indian pharmacy retail business MedPlus, aims to bring products directly from the factory to the customer without a middle man.

The brand’s inaugural line of products includes fashion items such as leather portfolio bags, wallets, and backpacks made by the BatchTag private brand Superhouse Group. Other items include furniture and furnishing products, home appliances, and building materials and the plan is to add air conditioners and televisions in the coming months and to continue to expand thereafter.

BatchTag’s main intended selling point is that its factory-to-consumer model will pass on savings from logistics, inventory holding costs, and inventory obsolescence to the customer allowing it to sell at factory prices. The brand aims to save between 40 and 80 percent on market operating prices.

“We now feel that all layers between the manufacturer and the consumer can be removed delivering enormous efficiency to the process," said Gangadi when launching the brand on Tuesday.
